Title: Worse Things Happen at Sea
Author: Alan Snow

A few months ago at the beginning of summer, I read this book over a period of a few weeks. It's one of those that does require a lot of concentration to keep up with all the crazy events that transpire. The payoff is an enjoyable and unbelievable trip off to sea though! At the time I read it (the one from the library didn't have the Boxtrolls sticker on it) I didn't realized that Alan Snow also wrote Here Be Monsters! which is the book that the movie The Boxtrolls is based upon. One day I was watching the movie and knew that a boxtroll named Eggs sounded familiar. So after a short google search I put the two together.
(heck, even trying to do a review of this book sounds complicated!)
Described as "a tale of Pirates, Poison, and Monsters," I really enjoyed this book and was so happy that I stumbled upon it at the library. Young Arthur and his Ratbridge friends have to set out on a journey of the high seas in their ship The Nautical Laundry to help find a rare medicine. The miraculous Black Jollop has cured many in the community including Arthur's grandfather, but it is in short supply. But when the ship is attacked, things get even more complicated! Follow along on this convoluted and jovial tale to find out if Arthur and his Ratbridge friends can save the town!
