Fandango Stew

Title: Fandango Stew

Author: David Davis, illustrated by Ben Galbraith

Published: 2011

Pages: 31

I'm guessing this book was inspired by Marcia Brown's Stone Soup published in 1947.  And speaking of inspiration, one of the opening lines is, "I'm so hungry I could eat a boiled leather boot," which is perhaps a nod to Charlie Chaplin's movie Gold Rush.

So obviously this David Davis has good taste...so to speak.

When Slim and Luis ride into the town of Skinflint suffering from the above mentioned hunger, there is only one thing to do...."Looks like fandango stew for supper again."

With only a fandango bean to start things off, will the people of Skinflint help them out with the stew?  Grab a big spoon and a hearty appetite and find out in this tasty adventure!

xoxo,
Kelly
