Well, the more I read children's literature, the more I'm convinced that most of it is made up of things like strict teachers, lost dogs, rainy days, and parent-less children. This old-fashioned novel though contains at least one of these...sort of. The children are about to become parent-less...especially if their parents have their way.
"Shouldn't we be orphans?" Barnaby B asked..."we are like children in an old-fashioned book."
Follow along this journey with Tim, Barnaby A and Barnaby B (twins), and Jane (who thinks girls should have names with more than one syllable) as they find a baby, become parent-less, get a nanny, and actually gain a few family members by the end. Also be sure to stay tuned for the Glossary of terms at the end, along with a Bibliography of old-fashioned books referenced throughout this novel.
I opted for the audio version of this book. I enjoyed it so much, I found myself just driving around town so I could listen to it in my car. It is definitely going on my top ten favorites list! Hope you are able to check it out!
