The Heir

Title: The Heir

Author: Kiera Cass

Published: 2015

Pages: 342

There are a couple of local libraries that I can go to now that I live in Gwinnett County, but my favorite is in the little town of Grayson.  I always have the best luck picking up some great finds at that one.

Well, my first introduction into the world of Kiera Cass did not disappoint!  I laughed out loud when I read her author description on the back cover..."Kiera has kissed approximately fourteen boys in her life.  None of them were princes."

When eighteen year old Princess Eadlyn is asked to proceed with a Selection to find a husband, she is less than enthusiastic about it.  Although her parents met that way and they present a strong case for uplifting the spirits of the local people of Illea...this is still Eadlyn's love life we are talking about.

Thankfully for Eadlyn, she does have a say in who makes the cut.  But when Kile a family friend who lives in the palace is initially one of the 35 young men, things take an interesting turn.  How will Eadlyn who is already reluctant about the process react to this news?

One thing that was a little annoying about this book was the way it ended.  It seemed like you just have to go on to read the next book in the series to see what really happens.  Although I can be a pretty picky reader, I did enjoy this book enough to go on to read Happily Ever After.  Put on your favorite fancy dress, grab a big bowl of popcorn, and follow along on this very charming tale in Princess Eadlyn's quest to find prince charming!

xoxo,
Kelly
