This is the first time I have read any books by James Howe, but it won't be the last. His love of animals and unique perspective really comes through in his writing.
When dog and cat team Harold and Chester find out they won't be going on the family vacation this year but instead are being shipped off to Chateau Bow-Wow, they don't take the news well. Chester the cat puts up a fight, but Harold seems much more agreeable..."I, on the other hand, went with quiet dignity, allowing myself to be lured into the back of the station wagon by a chocolate cupcake and Mr. Monroe's calm affirmation that adventure was good for the soul."
What they later name as Howliday Inn due to the constant nightly howling from some of the other dogs, turns out to be a place of mystery and adventure. Join Harold and Chester as they meet up with their new fellow inmates and start solving the mysteries of the creepy Howliday Inn!
xoxo,
Kelly
