Title: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again

I'm a big fan of Frank Cottrell Boyce. Actually, my all-time favorite children's book is Cosmic. You can find my review of it by clicking here. Well, even though this one wasn't an out of the world adventure, it was still pretty good.
There are some big changes in store for the Tooting family when Mr. Tooting loses his job. With a lot more free time on their hands, the parents decide to take their three children on an adventure. Just getting to know the Tootings was laugh-out-loud funny. Dad is always up for an adventure (the word for today is "fun"), Mum is easy-going, Jem (short for Jeremy) is good with computers and electronics, Lucy is the goth everything-has-to-be-black (even her food) typical teenager, and Little Harry loves to play with his toys...but he doesn't necessarily like his toys to play with him. By the way, Little Harry doesn't speak up very often, but when he does, the family would do well to listen to what he has to say.
And we can't forget poor Chitty, who certainly comes to have a place in the family too. Thanks to Dad and Jem, the newly renovated camper van really comes to life...more so than you want to know! After the Tootings argue over a series of different names for her, they all finally decide on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang because of the noises she makes when she is happy.
Fly away with Chitty and the Tootings on this amazing journey around the world. Hope you aren't afraid of heights though...especially when you land on the top of the Eiffel Tower! Have fun!
xoxo,
Kelly
